Neuroinformatics – Behavioral Neuroscience

The Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications from computational neuroscientists for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Behavioral Neuroscience. We are particularly interested in candidates who specialize in the development and/or deployment of computational analyses or models of neural networks at the cellular and molecular level and their relationship to behavior in animal models. Applicants utilizing machine learning or artificial intelligence approaches to large-scale neural datasets such as electrophysiology and calcium/voltage imaging, as well as anatomical, genomic, or complex behavioral datasets, are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong track record of research productivity, teaching and mentorship effectiveness, and potential for external funding. This position is part of a major university-wide Strategic Hiring Initiative to recruit six full-time tenure-track faculty in the area of Neuroinformatics across six different departments: https://publish.illinois.edu/neuro-cluster.

A Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field, as well as postdoctoral experience, is required. The target start date is August 16, 2024, but is negotiable. Salary is commensurate with rank and qualifications.
