The Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Behavioral Neuroscience. We are particularly interested in candidates who specialize in neural plasticity in response to the environment at the cellular/molecular level. Areas of content specialization include effects of stress, social and environmental neglect during critical stages of pre- and post-natal development, developmental challenges to immune functioning, as well as animal models of psychiatric syndromes and neurodegenerative diseases. Candidates should show evidence of research productivity, teaching and mentorship effectiveness, and potential for external funding.

Successful candidates are expected to establish and maintain an active and independent research program, teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and provide service to the department, the university, and the profession. A Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field, as well as postdoctoral experience, is required. The target start date is August 16, 2024, but is negotiable. Salary is commensurate with rank and qualifications.
