Two postdoctoral fellow positions are immediately available to study neurobiology of Parkinson’s disease with emphasis on restorative and neuroprotective therapies. Fellows will explore the role of the basal ganglia in health and disease in animal models using state of the art techniques such as gene therapy, cell transplantation, single cell electrophysiology, fiber photometry, optogenetics, chemogenetics, microdialysis, polysomnography, imaging, advanced microscopy including lightsheet and tissue clearing as part of a highly collaborative team that is funded by 2 NIH R01 grants and a DoD grant. Strong background in the neurosciences and hands on experience with lightsheet microscopy or electrophysiology or related techniques are highly desirable. Successful applicants will also have a strong background in writing, publishing manuscripts, and contributing to grant applications.
