The Department of Pediatrics (http://www.pediatrics.ucsd.edu) and the Haddad Lab at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and is seeking a postdoctoral scholar.
The position is focused on studying the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental impairment following opioids/hypoxia exposure. These studies will include human stem cell derived neural cell models and mouse models and will use a wide range of techniques (electrophysiology, imaging, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, RNA-seq, data mining, etc.)
Applicants must have a PhD in the field of biology or neuroscience, with prior work experience in human induced pluripotent stem cells and/or brain organoids culture. Applicants with molecular biology and/or electrophysiology background are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants should be highly self-motivated, work well in a collaborative team environment and must be able to manage multiple research projects with ease.
In addition to research, the position requires publication of research results, presentation at conferences, participation in group meetings, and grant writing.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
