Assistant Professor - Tenure Track

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Neural and Behavioral Sciences, in Hershey, PA invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure- track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an active research program in neuroscience and to teach graduate students and medical students.

Preference will be given to individuals with a strong publication record who developed and/or utilize state-of-the-art techniques to address emerging and critical biological questions at the interface of neuroscience and cancer research. The Department of Neural and Behavioral Sciences has diverse interests in areas including the gut-brain axis, obesity, spinal cord injury, inflammatory diseases, vision science, brain mapping, neurobiology of addiction, neurodevelopment, neuronal identity and diversity, and neurodegenerative diseases. The Department of Neural and Behavioral Sciences provides a competitive start-up package, remodeled laboratory space, excellent core facilities, and extensive opportunities for collaborative research, and participation in graduate training programs and junior faculty development programs.

The successful candidate must hold PhD in Neuroscience or a closely related field no later than at the time of the appointment and must pass a background check.
