New York University: NYU - NY: College of Dentistry: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery: Translational Research Center

Description

The Jensen laboratory of the Translational Research Center and Pain Research Center at the New York University College of Dentistry seeks an enthusiastic and skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow with a background in Neuroscience and Cell Signaling. Our lab is focused on the importance of G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling in the development of pruritis, pain, and inflammation. The research project will study the role of GPCR trafficking and intracellular signaling on pruritis and pain and will use nano-therapies to specifically target and attenuate the endosomal signaling of GPCRs. Applicant will be involved in the design and development of experiments from signaling assays and live cell imaging using FRET and BRET biosensors, to behavioral models of pruritis and pain.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $58,500 - $65,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or related discipline and have experience in both in vitro and in vivo models for cell signaling. Applicants should have experience in cell culture techniques and in animal husbandry for both wild type and genetically modified mice. Applicants should have great interpersonal skills, have a desire to work in a highly collaborative manner, and have good problem solving abilities.

Application Instructions

Review of applications will begin upon receipt and continue until the position is filled. Applicants should submit via Interfolio a curriculum vita, short letter of intent including names and contact information of three (3) references.
