Research Position in Upper Extremity Rehabilitation Post Stroke
Available Position: Postdoctoral Scholar
Desired Qualification:
- Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Kinesiology or Movement Science Applicants should be proficient with 3D motion capture and / or EMG data collection and processing. Experience with EEG collection, pre and post processing is a plus. Experience in clinical research with stroke survivors is also a plus.
Research Focus: We have an exciting research program in which we test the efficacy of novel virtual reality-based upper extremity neurorehabilitation treatments for persons who had a stroke. We quantify the impact of these novel treatments using clinical assessments, limb and hand kinematics, eye tracking, muscular coordination (EMG), and brain dynamics (fNIRS, EEG, TMS, MRI).
Environment: We have very strong interdisciplinary collaborations with occupational/physical therapy, engineering, and technology transfer/commercialization. We provide an excellent training environment to grow one’s research career. We provide individualized training in writing for publication and grantsmanship, as well as clinical trial management.
