A postdoctoral position is available for an appropriate candidate to be mentored by Dr. David K. The project focuses on a novel regulatory pathway linking chaperone mediated autophagy (CMA) and the ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS) in the regulation of a transcriptional coactivator, PGC-1alpha.  The lab also is studying mitophagy and USP30 as a therapeutic target. Another line of work focuses on VPS35 and regulation of pathways involved in alpha-synuclein degradation. These projects may help to identify novel therapeutic strategies for Parkinson’s disease. Both cellular and mouse models will be used along with AAV vectors and pharmacological and molecular experimental approaches.
