A postdoctoral position is available for an appropriate candidate to be mentored by Dr. David K. The project focuses on a novel regulatory pathway linking chaperone mediated autophagy (CMA) and the ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS) in the regulation of a transcriptional coactivator, PGC-1alpha.  The lab also is studying mitophagy and USP30 as a therapeutic target. Another line of work focuses on VPS35 and regulation of pathways involved in alpha-synuclein degradation. These projects may help to identify novel therapeutic strategies for Parkinson’s disease.
