The NEMEX (Neurotoxicity due to Environmental complex Metal Mixtures Exposure) multi-investigator group at Johns Hopkins University is currently looking for a neuroscientist or neurotoxicologist who is interested in elucidating the mechanisms by which metal mixtures act in concert to elicit neurodegenerative Alzheimer's Disease-related effects.

The research is focused on the neurotoxicological effects and neurocognitive defects of metal mixtures during brain development along with gene-by-environment studies to discover the adverse outcome pathways (AOPs) that will help in cumulative risk assessment for Alzheimer's Disease.

Candidates with strong backgrounds in neurotoxicology, neuroscience, and/or in vitro electrophysiology are encouraged to apply. Previous experience with patch-clamp electrophysiology and/or animal behavior is highly desired. Applicants should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and have or are expected to obtain a PhD shortly in a related area. Candidates will be expected to work collaboratively with other members of the group, but must be able to design and execute experiments independently. Strong organizational and oral/written communication skills are desirable.
