The Biology Department at Whitman College is seeking candidates for a one-year position in Biology, at the rank of visiting assistant professor, beginning August 2023. A graduate degree relevant to the position is required, Ph.D. is preferred.

The successful candidate will have a 5-course teaching load. They will teach lecture and lab sections of our introductory course, Biological Principles, as well as one or two courses in their area of expertise, and will supervise theses (helping students to write and present an undergraduate senior thesis based on students' previously completed research). Preference will be given to candidates who can offer either a cell biology or a neurobiology course as one of their electives.

Salary Range: $64,000-$67,000
