Postdoctoral Researcher (Behavioral Neuroscience)

The Jentsch laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to spearhead efforts to determine the genetic and neurobiological mechanisms underpinning the relationship between incentive motivation, impulsivity and drug reinforcement in diverse mouse populations. Using an array of behavioral (operant conditioning), surgical (intracranial, intravascular), neurochemical (HPLC, fast scan cyclic voltammetry) and molecular (RNAseq, in situ hybridization, PCR) techniques, the successful candidate will be central to our NIH-funded efforts to develop a comprehensive understanding of genetic regulation of mesolimbic dopamine system function and associated behavioral mechanisms. Mentorship of undergraduate and graduate student researchers during the planning, conduct and analysis of experiments is also expected.

Requirements:

Required:

• Doctoral Degree in neuroscience, psychology, biological sciences or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with behavioral, molecular and surgical research methods and with laboratory rodent models.

Preferred:

• At least 1 year of experience with Python or equivalent coding environments.
• At least 2 first-author peer-reviewed publications.
