The Laboratory of Pain Research in the Department of Anesthesiology, Medical College of Wisconsin, is seeking candidates for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate. An NIH-funded position is available to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of pain and translational intervention research. Other research topics in our lab are the neurobiology of cannabinoid signaling, depression, and traumatic brain injury.
Potential candidates should have a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences. Prior training in molecular biology, biochemistry, and molecular neuroscience will be preferred. The salary range is $51,000 – $62,000 for a postdoctoral fellow; $65,000-$78,000 for a research scientist.

- Ph.D. degree. Preferred degrees in Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences, Psychology, Psychiatry, Neurology or related fields Experience in molecular and biochemical techniques, such qPCR, Western blot, and immunofluorescence. Familiar with next-generation sequencing approaches, bioinformatics, and computational tools. Experience in rodent experiments in some of these areas: stereotaxic surgery, in vivo gene manipulations, CRISPR/shRNAs, fiber photometry, calcium imaging, and behavioral tests will be a plus.
