The Cognitive & Perceptual Development Lab under the direction of John R. Pruett, Jr., M.D., Ph.D. (https://dbbs.wustl.edu/faculty/Pages/faculty_bio.aspx?SID=6140) at Washington University School of Medicine seeks a cognitive neuroscience postdoc to work with fcMRI data acquired in large studies of brain and behavior development in infants at elevated likelihood for autism and infants with Down syndrome. Competitive candidates will have training in systems neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, and/or developmental/experimental psychology. Facility with programming in Python, MATLAB, and/or C is required.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Trains under the supervision of Dr. John Pruett
  • Performs data processing and analyses
  • Generates and tests hypotheses about brain-behavior relationships in autism and Down syndrome
  • Presents findings locally and nationally
  • Assists with grant preparation and reporting
  • Prepares and submits scientific papers for publication
  • Assists with supervision of students and technicians

Minimum Requirements

  • Ph.D. in neuroscience, psychology, or a related field
  • Experience with fcMRI, programing, and statistics
