Postdoctoral Position in Glial Biology and Neurorepair
The Chen Lab at the University of Kentucky studies the glial response, including but not limited to astrocytes, in central nervous system injury. We are in the Spinal Cord & Brain Injury Research Center and affiliated with the Department of Neuroscience. We use a combination of mouse genetics, experimental central nervous system (CNS) injury models, mouse behavioral assays, and cellular and molecular biology to understand the contribution of glia to CNS repair. We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic, and collaborative candidates. Nuclei of research interests in neurotrauma, aging-related neurodegeneration, and neuroscience at the University of Kentucky provide a stimulating environment and ample opportunities to collaborate across disciplines. Recent Ph.D. graduates of neurobiology, cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry or research background relevant to our lab’s interests will be preferred. Qualified candidates are encouraged to email the principal investigator, Dr. Chen, at meifan.chen@uky.edu with a CV, description of research interests, and contacts of three references.
The University of Kentucky is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce by ensuring all our students, faculty, and staff work in an environment of openness and acceptance.
