Mission Statement

Michigan Medicine improves the health of patients, populations and communities through excellence in education, patient care, community service, research and technology development, and through leadership activities in Michigan, nationally and internationally.  Our mission is guided by our Strategic Principles and has three critical components; patient care, education and research that together enhance our contribution to society.

Who We Are

The Savier lab at the University of Michigan in the Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology and Ophthalmology is looking for postdoctoral fellows! We investigate the parallel processing of visual information using state-the-art neuroscience tools, such as large scale in vivo electrophysiology, in vivo 2-photon calcium imaging and cell-type based neuro-anatomical tracing.  The Savier lab has a unique comparative perspective on the problem by addressing these questions in both mice and tree shrews and also aims at addressing how circuits and response properties arise during development.

Required Qualifications*

A PhD in relevant fields is required (Biology and related disciplines).

Desired Qualifications*

A strong background in either Matlab programming or in vivo neurophysiology would be preferred together with previous experience with animals. The qualified candidate must be able to work in a team, show advance communication skills and a strong motivation to resolve scientific problems.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

Please submit a curriculum vitae and a short cover letter explaining your interest for this position. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
