Multiple postdoc openings at Child Health Institute of NJ

The Child Health Institute of New Jersey at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School has multiple NIH funded positions for neuroscience postdocs and research technicians in the labs of Drs. Mark Rossi, Abdelfattah El Ouaamari, Zhiping Pang, Max Tischfield, and Chiara Manzini. We seek highly motivated individuals with experience or interests in the following areas:

  • Neurocircuitry of reward, feeding, and obesity (Mark Rossi— markrossilab.org)
  • Glucose homeostasis and diabetes (Abdelfattah El Ouaamari— elouaamari.org)
  • Synaptic regulation of feeding, metabolism, and obesity (Zhiping Pang— pang-lab.org)
  • Genetics of neurodevelopmental diseases and brain patterning (Max Tischfield— maxtischfieldlab.org)
  • Genetics of neurodevelopmental diseases (M. Chiara Manzini— manzinilab.org)

We seek self-motivated and creative postdoctoral researchers with prior experience in animal models, cell culture, electrophysiology, biochemistry, in vivo imaging, and metabolism or related fields. The Child Health Institute of New Jersey (rwjms.rutgers.edu/institutes/chinj/about-chinj/overview) is located within the Rutgers University New Brunswick campus.

The CHINJ is a comprehensive biomedical research center dedicated to improving child health through basic, translational, and clinical research. The CHINJ houses 15 resident laboratories investigating the neurobiological, metabolic, genetic, and immunological basis of childhood diseases. It has a dedicated microscopy core with multiple confocal and multiphoton microscopes for in vivo or in vitro studies. It also has facilities for behavioral assays, electrophysiology, cell culture, flow cytometry, and single cell sequencing as well as an in-house animal facility. Our faculty hold appointments in the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and the Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences. Faculty and trainees are also affiliated with the Rutgers Brain Health Institute, which includes more than 200 neuroscience research groups from across all Rutgers campuses. The CHINJ is located directly off the NJ Transit line with easy direct travel between New York, Princeton, and Philadelphia.
