Position Opening in Rehabilitation-Related Neuroimaging at Kessler Foundation

Kessler Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit public charity and a premier medical rehabilitation research organization is seeking a Research Scientist to lead an Advanced Rehabilitation Neuroimaging (ARNI) Laboratory.

Position Summary

The Research Scientist (equivalent to Assistant Professor) and the ARNI lab will be within the Center for Mobility and Rehabilitation Engineering Research (CMRE) directed by Dr. Guang Yue. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a record of high-quality research, scholarship, and external funding capabilities. Qualifications include 1) a Ph.D., M.D., D.D., and/or E.D.; 2) minimum of three years of postdoctoral research experience in neuroimaging (e.g., MRI and/or electrophysiology-based imaging) in human subjects; 3) demonstrated high quality publication record; 3) ability to effectively establish/maintain collaborative relationships; 4) management and mentoring experience; and 5) demonstrated grant funding capabilities.

Responsibilities include the following:

· Lead and maintain a dynamic grant funded research program focused on investigating mechanisms of neurological and musculoskeletal diseases/injuries, and sensorimotor function recovery after rehabilitation intervention using neuroimaging approaches.

· Lead and participate in efforts in research grant-writing, manuscript preparation, and training/mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

· Collaborate with colleagues at KF for active research projects and/or project development.

· Maximize the value of the CMRE by strengthening our reputation as a center of excellence in cutting-edge clinical and translational research programs.

Center for Mobility and Rehabilitation Engineering Research (CMRE) – The mission of CMRE is to improve mobility, independence, and quality of life for patients with sensorimotor deficits caused by neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. The CMRE hosts 6 laboratories with a research staff of over 40. The laboratories within the CMRE concentrate on rehabilitation research and provides broad opportunities for developing and sharing expertise in neuroscience, physiology, imaging, biomechanics, rehabilitation engineering, cognitive-motor integration, rehabilitation related artificial intelligence (AI), research dissemination, etc.
