Job Details
The Laboratory of Molecular and Translational Vascular Research in the Dept. Pathology and the Brain and Mind Research Institute, Weill Cornell Medicine, is seeking candidates for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate. A NIH-funded position is immediately available to investigate the molecular mechanisms governing endothelial dysfunction. The candidate must have experience in molecular, cell biology and in vivo mouse models (e.g. stroke, sepsis). Our research team studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms governing endothelial dysfunction with a special emphasis on exploring the therapeutic potential of the endothelium to prevent tissue injury and promote repair in the context of cerebrovascular diseases and systemic inflammatory response syndrome/sepsis. We routinely use molecular and cellular biology approaches, as well as mouse models of vascular injury. More information can be found at https://pathology.weill.cornell.edu/research/research-labs/laboratory-molecular-and-translational-vascular-research and https://brainandmind.weill.cornell.edu.
The candidate will join a dynamic, highly collaborative, and multidisciplinary research team and will have the opportunity to conduct both basic and translational research, to acquire experience in drug development and to receive strong mentorship for a successful career path in academia or industry. Applicants must have recently obtained a PhD in Molecular, Cell Biology or Neuroscience, and have a strong track record of publications, teamwork, and collegiality. Individuals who are interested in this position please send 1) your Curriculum Vitae 2) statement of research interests and 3) the names of 3 references to Dr. Teresa Sanchez at tes2015@med.cornell.edu
