Faculty Position in Human Intraoperative Neurophysiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA


The Department of Neurosurgery in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor In-residence level.  We are interested in candidates studying human brain electrophysiology using intraoperative data collection techniques at the synaptic and circuit level. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in the analysis of single unit and local field potential obtained during deep brain stimulation and epilepsy surgeries. The individual will be an integral part of the UCLA functional and restorative neurosurgery program and is expected to lead an NIH-funded translational research program of high caliber and participate in the training of graduate students, medical students, neurosurgery residents, and post-doctoral fellows.  Research efforts will include basic science and translational work related to the application of neuromodulation for movement and psychiatric disorders.
