JOB DESCRIPTION

Nemours Children's Health is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow.

In a highly collaborative research environment, the Postdoctoral Fellow’s primary function is to design and carry out biochemical, cell biological, and molecular biology experiments in cell and animal models, develop protocols, prepare manuscripts, provide assistance with grant applications, and assist in supervising and coordinating various research projects that fall within the scope of approved protocols.  Responsibilities include 3D cell culture of established cell lines and primary cells, performing DNA and RNA extractions, cell-based high-throughput screening using small molecule libraries, and establish and characterize preclinical models of cerebellar dysfunction. Furthermore, the Postdoctoral Scientist will maintain records of protocols and experimental results, provide data analysis and interpretation, and prepare results of studies for publication and presentation. Lastly, the Postdoctoral Fellow will train staff and students, and will be responsible for laboratory safety and other agency compliance issues pertaining to research projects. The position is in a very supportive environment for career development and mentoring in grantsmanship will be provided.

Qualifications:

Post Graduate degree in biological sciences or bioengineering required
