Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Systems Neuroscience using Non-Human Primates

Applications are invited for one tenure-track faculty position at the assistant, associate or full professor rank with a targeted start date of September 2023. We seek a colleague who will develop an outstanding research program in systems neuroscience using non-human primates as research models. We are particularly interested in applicants investigating the neural basis of perception, cognition and action in awake, behaving primates. The successful applicant will not only join the strong and diverse group of researchers within the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh (http://www.neuroscience.pitt.edu/), but also be a part of an extensive, impactful, and growing neuroscience community in Pittsburgh. The primate research community is especially strong, with collaborative groups spread across the Center for Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh (CNUP; https://www.cnup.pitt.edu), the University of Pittsburgh Brain Institute (https://www.braininstitute.pitt.edu/about/welcome) and the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (CNBC; https://www.cnbc.cmu.edu/), which bridges the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and Carnegie Mellon University.  Successful candidates will be expected to establish an independent research program, participate in teaching neuroscience to undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to the interactive and collegial local neuroscience community.

Required qualifications for all ranks are a doctoral degree, postdoctoral training in neuroscience or a related field, proposed use of non-human primates as research models, and a record of research excellence.

Desired qualifications for associate or full professor ranks include a record of service, teaching experience, and a record of training graduate and/or postdoctoral scholars.
