Postdoctoral Associate Positions in Neuroscience are available in the laboratory of SUNY Distinguished Professor Zhen Yan, Ph.D. in Department of Physiology and Biophysics, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. The research goal is to understand the epigenetic and synaptic mechanisms of a variety of brain disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease, stress-associated mental illnesses and autism. Transgenic mouse models, human postmortem tissues, and human stem cell-derived neurons are used to uncover pathophysiological basis and treatment strategies for these CNS diseases. A combination of cutting-edge electrophysiological, biochemical, molecular biological, chemogenetic, optogenetic, transcriptomic and behavioral approaches are used in their research. More than 150 publications have been generated to report their scientific findings, many of which are on high-impact journals, including Nature Neuroscience, Nature Communications, Neuron, Brain, Science Advances, Molecular Psychiatry, etc. For more information on publications, lab members, and funding, please visit www.buffalo.edu/~zhenyan. A successful candidate should have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree in the biomedical field, strong dedication in scientific research, and expertise in neurobiological experiments. Please email the application (CV, statement and contact information of three references) to zhenyan@buffalo.edu
