Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Neural Circuits and Cellular Neurophysiology

We are seeking a versatile and innovative person to investigate how brainstem descending motor systems alter sensory processing by spinal interneurons. The project is part of a large international research consortium (NSF - NeuroNex) to identify effective motor control principles that will help guide robotic applications in real environments (https://neuronex.org/projects/23). The lab uses single-cell calcium imaging, optogenetic, electrophysiological approaches in mice.
QUALIFICATIONS: Recent Ph.D. in Neurophysiology or related field and publications that document prior experience working with in vitro single-cell calcium imaging or electrophysiology in mice. Strong surgical skills and previous work on brainstem or spinal cord of newborn or juvenile mice will be an asset. Must be dynamic, organized, self-motivated and have excellent scientific writing ability.

SALARY: NIH scale (https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-20-070.html) plus fringe benefits. The initial appointment is for one year to be renewed yearly depending on mutual satisfaction.
