Assistant Professor - Biology/Neurobiology/Neuroscience

The Department of Science, in the School of Natural Science and Mathematics at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD, invites outstanding teacher-scholars to apply for a new tenure-track appointment in Biology/Neurobiology/Neuroscience. The successful candidate should possess a Ph.D., with post-doctoral experience preferred, in Neurobiology or closely related discipline.  We are interested in expanding our capacity in this area and will consider applicants with a variety of backgrounds providing they can also teach within the biology major course sequence.  Departmental faculty demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to the campus community. The applicant is expected to engage in peer-reviewed scholarship that encourages and supports the involvement of undergraduates. Primary teaching responsibilities will include the foundational Anatomy and Physiology courses and Introductory Biology courses, and specifically developing electives related to Neurobiology in the applicant’s area of expertise.
