Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking enthusiastic, detail-oriented applicants for positions of Postdoctoral Fellow to join multi-disciplinary NIH-funded Neuro-HIV team (Akbarian laboratory) . The School is one of the nation's leading medical schools, ranked in the top 20 schools for NIH funding. The Departments of Neurology, Psychiatry and Medicine and the Friedman Brain Institute offers an outstanding intellectual and multidisciplinary research environment with a commitment to translational research.  State-of-the-art infrastructure and support is available. 1. A postdoctoral position in  available for a project on humanized mouse models of HIV infection in the central nervous system. The successful candidate will lead a multi-disciplinary team exploring cellular and molecular mechanisms of HIV infection and inflammation associated with human stem cell-derived immune cells xenografted into the mouse. Of specific interest are epigenetic mechanisms, including HUSH and other repressor complexes , and their role in viral suppression and latency. This highly interdisciplinary project will involve experimental neuropharmacology, stem cell genetic engineering and molecular and behavioral studies in the humanized mouse model. Candidates should have a Ph.D. or M.D. and a strong background in translational models of neurological and immunological disease.   

2. A postdoctoral position is available to lead an innovative neurogenomics project focused on cell specific single chromatin fiber profilings in human and mouse brain
