TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITIONS IN

NEUROSCIENCE

The Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in the areas of brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases.  We seek applications from candidates who explore molecular, cellular, neuroimmunological, and/or circuit mechanisms underlying these conditions, or who develop novel approaches to treat these disorders.

The appointed individuals will be expected to develop a strong, independent research program, establish interdisciplinary collaborations, and secure extramural funding.  Additionally, they will be expected to contribute to our departmental teaching mission and mentor graduate students, medical students, and postdoctoral fellows.  Applications at a junior or a senior level will be considered, with rank dependent on experience and qualifications.  McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston is located within the Texas Medical Center and its very rich and collaborative neuroscience community, including The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine, Rice University, and the University of Houston.

Interested candidates should electronically submit their curriculum vitae, a 2-3-page research statement, and the names of three references through our online application system at http://p.rfer.us/UTHtxMF1x.  Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and the search will remain open until suitable candidates have been identified.
