FACULTY POSITION IN MOLECULAR NEUROSCIENCE, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, DAVIS
Tenure Track Assistant Professor position, beginning Fall 2023. The Center for Neuroscience (CNS) and the Departments of Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) and Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior (NPB) in the College of Biological Sciences at the University of California, Davis invite applications for a position in molecular neuroscience. We seek an outstanding candidate using molecular approaches to understand brain function and dysfunction using human iPSC-derived models and/or tissue. A Ph.D. or M.D. or equivalent and postdoctoral experience in an appropriate discipline are required. The successful applicant will be expected to have an active research program, a strong commitment to high quality teaching, the potential to attract extramural funding, and excellent potential for interactions/collaborations with existing faculty at the CNS and in the NPB and/or MCB departments. The applicant’s accomplishments in innovative research and commitments to teaching and diversity, equity, and inclusion should demonstrate their potential to develop into the future leaders of their fields.
The successful applicant will hold an academic appointment in the College of Biological Sciences, Department of MCB or NPB and will contribute to the undergraduate teaching mission of the University as well as to the University-wide Neuroscience Graduate Program. They will be housed in the Center for Neuroscience, an interdisciplinary research center that is home to more than 26 laboratories working collaboratively in all areas of neuroscience. This candidate will also have access to the vibrant scientific community, extensive stem cell core facilities, innovative CIRM-supported training programs, and CIRM-grant writing support provided by the Institute for Regenerative Cures within the UC Davis School of Medicine. The neuroscience community at U.C. Davis is broad and extremely well integrated across campus, with exceptionally close and collegial interactions among between members of the Center and faculty from other campus institutes, departments, and graduate programs.
