Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Department of Neurology and Institute for Neurological Therapeutics The Department of Neurology and the RWJMS Institute for Neurological Therapeutics (RINT) invite applications for faculty positions to develop an innovative and interdisciplinary preclinical and translational research program in neurological diseases focused on neurodegenerative, neuroimmunologic and demyelinating disorders. Rank and tenure status will be determined based on candidate’s qualifications. Under the leadership of RINT Founding Director, M. Maral Mouradian, MD, the mission of the Institute is to promote translational research for the objective of elucidating the molecular pathogenesis of chronic incurable neurological disorders and developing novel therapies. Current emphasis by Institute investigators includes Parkinson’s disease, other alpha-synucleinopathies, Alzheimer’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis. Ample opportunities exist for collaborations with basic and clinical faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and with investigators across Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, and Rutgers University’s departments of Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, and Bioengineering. An NIH funded T32 grant for Training in Translating Neuroscience to Therapeutics supports eligible graduate students, MD / PhD students and postdoctoral fellows. The Institute is housed in a state-of-the art research building located in the Piscataway, New Jersey campus. Rutgers provides competitive start-up packages and benefits.
