The Motor Neuron Center and Dept. of Neurology at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center seek applicants for Assistant Professor (research track) and postdoctoral scientist positions.  Requirements for the Assistant Professor position include a PhD and 4-5 years of postdoctoral experience.  Ideally, applicants will have expertise with mouse models of the neurodevelopmental brain disorder, Glut1 deficiency and experience with the pre-clinical testing of therapies in such models. Excellent communication skills, a published record of accomplishments, mentoring experience and an ability to work in a team are highly desired. Postdoc applicants will also have a PhD and a track record in molecular biology. Expertise in mouse neurobiology, RNA biology and electrophysiology are desired.  In addition, candidates must be team players, demonstrate initiative and communicate effectively.
