Dr. Qin Wang’s laboratory in the Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University invites applications for Postdoctoral Fellow positions; available immediately. We are seeking motivated and creative Postdoctoral Fellows to study G protein coupled receptor neuropharmacology under normal and disease conditions. Excellent research techniques in biochemistry and molecular biology are preferred. Prior experience with brain research and skills in computation are valued. Candidates with biochemistry, cell biology and/or molecular pharmacology backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The Postdoctoral Fellow will have opportunities to conduct the innovative research projects with state-of-the-art technologies and model systems, such as CRISPR gene editing, single-cell RNA-Seq, super-resolution imaging, AI-aided design and analysis, patient-derived iPSCs and humanized mouse models. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be given opportunities to apply for training grants and encouraged to pursue independent research career, with a strong support from the mentor. 

 

The Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia is charged with conducting high-impact original biomedical research and translating the findings to clinical applications, and in educating future physicians and researchers.  Our research addresses fundamental questions in neuroscience, cell and developmental biology, endocrinology, and regenerative medicine.  Collaborations have been established with clinical departments for studies that investigate various diseases including neurological diseases (Alzheimer's, stroke, epilepsy, muscular dystrophy, and Guillain-Barre syndrome); psychiatric disorders (schizophrenia and autism); degenerative diseases (osteoporosis); cancer; and endocrinological disorders.
