The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences invites applications to fill the Ketchel Family Chair. The successful applicant for this position will have a productive, visible, and well-funded research program that exemplifies an integrative approach to the study of behavior. The position is open to an associate or full professor who uses behavioral, cognitive, neurobiological, developmental, clinical, social, biobehavioral, and/or computational approaches to understanding learning and behavioral change in humans or non-human species. The appointment includes a generous
startup package and an annual unrestricted research fund. Review of applications begins on October 3, 2022, and continues on a rolling basis until the position is filled. The position begins as early as August 2023.

Departmental faculty have ongoing collaborations with colleagues in such departments as Neuroscience and Pharmacology, Psychiatry, Biology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Radiology, Computer Science, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Public Health, Otolaryngology, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. The university also supports a variety of institutes, centers, and facilities, including the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science, the Magnetic Resonance Research Facility, which includes research-dedicated 3T and 7T scanners, the Central Microscopy Research Facility, the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Injury Prevention Research Center, and the Iowa Institute of Human Genetics.
