Description:
A postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated scientist interested in pain research to join a collaborative, energetic, and productive team to study mechanisms of pain associated with cancer and with sickle cell disease in animal models. Research will focus on peripheral and spinal mechanisms of pain and the involvement of lipid mediators, including endocannabinoids, as well as novel approaches for treatment. Duties include designing and performing experiments, preparation of manuscripts, and presentation of data at national and international meetings. Experimental approaches to be used include, but are not limited to, behavior measures of hyperalgesia, immunohistochemistry, molecular biology and electrophysiology. Experience with one or more of these approaches is preferred.
Applicants must have a PhD in neuroscience or a related field.
