The Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) located in Phoenix, Arizona is hiring a post-doctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Bowser to investigate biomarkers related to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). We use advanced techniques that include mass spectrometry of human biofluids and tissue samples to discover and validate disease related biomarkers. This position has external funding and is immediately available. The candidate will also contribute to ongoing biomarker studies that combine multi-omic approaches with detailed clinical information to discover biomarkers related to disease sub-types and to advance translation of therapeutics to specific patient populations. Prior experience in proteomics is desired. The BNI is internationally recognized as a leading institute for translational neuroscience, neurosurgery and neurology. We work closely with our clinical colleagues to translate our basic science findings to the clinic. Laboratory webpage: https://www.barrowneuro.org/person/robert-bowser-phd/
