The lab of Dr. Jason Christie at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (www.cerebellumlab.org) is currently searching for postdoctoral candidates interested in studying neural circuits that support motor learning. The selected candidate will participate in a well-funded research program examining how behavior is flexibly shaped by learning-dependent processing in the cerebellum and the motor cortex. Techniques in the lab include in vivo two-photon microscopy, electrophysiology, and optogenetics in behaving mice (see recent work: Bonnan et al. 2021 Nat Comm; Gaffield et al. 2019 Neuron, and Rowan et al. 2018 Neuron). We also use acute brain slice recording (patch-clamp electrophysiology and two-photon microscopy) to decipher how features of cellular physiology and synaptic function provide the neural circuit basis for computations underlying motor learning. Training is provided with the candidate's goals and interests in mind.
The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Neuroscience or Biophysics. Previous experience with electrophysiology and/or light-microscopy is preferred. Also, candidates with technical backgrounds in electronics engineering, computer science, or physics are encouraged to apply.
Applicants should provide a statement of research interests with their CV and list of references by email to: jason.m.christie at cuanschutz.edu.
