A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Elif Engin at McLean Hospital, Belmont, MA, the primary psychiatric teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, to work on an NIH-funded project investigating the effects of early life experience on GABAergic modulation of brain reward circuitry through life using mice as a model system. The project will involve work at multiple levels of analyses using molecular, electrophysiological, and behavioral techniques.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or related field. Experience in rodent stereotaxic surgery and in vivo electrophysiology is strongly preferred. Underrepresented minorities and individuals with disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply.

The candidate will be proposed for academic appointment as a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Salary will be commensurate with years of postdoctoral experience and corresponds with the NIH pay scale.
