Job Details

Diany Paola Calderon lab at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City has an opening postdoctoral position in her laboratory. Research in the Calderon lab focuses on understanding how the different components of the arousal pathways establish and maintain consciousness in the brain. In particular, we want to determine how neuronal circuitries produce adequate brain activation in order to treat impaired consciousness after brain injury. We currently use in vivo recordings in anesthetized and awake mice, Neuropixels, optogenetic/pharmacologic stimulation and behavioral studies to answer these questions.  Insights obtained from these neurophysiological studies have been translated to clinically relevant disorders of consciousness by incorporating animal models of traumatic brain injury.

This position seeks a person who has strong background in neuroscience. Experience in programming skills in MATLAB or python and in vivo electrophysiological recordings are desirable.

To apply, send a tailored cover letter detailing your interest in the position and future career plans, your CV including publication record, and the contact information for three references to Dr. Calderon at dpc2003@med.cornell.edu
