The Madhavan Lab at the University of Arizona is seeking candidates for the fully funded position of Postdoctoral Research Associate I, available immediately. Dr Madhavan’s research merges the fields of stem cell biology and neuroscience to understand the biology of aging and neurodegeneration, and to develop creative approaches to tackle age-related disorders such as Parkinson’s disease (https://madhavanlab.medicine.arizona.edu/). Her research program incorporates different rodent and human model systems, and range of in vitro and in vivo behavioral, cellular and molecular approaches, to address these goals. The program is accepting applications from motivated candidates to work on projects related to testing of novel therapeutics for PD (co-mentorship with Dr Rick Schnellmann, Professor, College of Pharmacy) and investigating PD mechanisms in human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neural cells. The postdoctoral candidate will benefit from the diverse, rich, and interdisciplinary research environment at the University of Arizona which has a strong tradition in neuroscience and aging research.
