A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Christos Constantinidis, in the Department of Biomedical Engineering of Vanderbilt University. The position is supported by a newly funded NIH BRAIN-Initiative grant, which seeks to understand the neural circuits of the prefrontal cortex that underlie working memory and other cognitive functions. The project involves combined behavioral, neurophysiological, and optogenetic experiments in non-human primates. Applicants with expertise in optogenetic methods in any model system will be preferred. Experience in computational analysis of neurophysiological data is also desirable. Both junior applicants, having newly completed their PhD, and more senior postdocs will be considered. A Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or equivalent is required.
