The preclinical research involves the study of strokes (IS, ICH, SAH), traumatic brain injury (TBI), vascular dementia, CAA, and AD in a teamwork environment with state-of-the-art facilities. The laboratory uses AAVs and mouse models to conduct mechanistic studies on the role of anti-inflammatory (Toll-like Receptors) and anti-oxidant (Nrf2-heme oxygenase-iron) pathways in neurological disorders to identify novel and effective neuroprotective therapies.
Enthusiastic applicants must submit electronically a letter of interest describing mouse in vivo brain surgery experience and short/long term goals, a detailed CV, and the names of three senior faculty references with email and phone number. Start date is available now until the positions are filled.
Any questions regarding the application process can be directed to Prof. Sylvain Doré PhD, FAHA, Director of Research Programs, Depts of Anesthesiology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Pharmaceutics and Neuroscience, UF-COM, at sdore@ufl.edu and 443-803-1910. UF is now ranked #5 among the Top best public universities.

Experience with advances in rodent surgeries, handling, genotyping, and physiology techniques is required. Prior experience in mouse ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke or TBI is required, with first author publications.
