The focus of this new Scientist / Senior Scientist position will be to lead and execute the pluripotent stem cell therapy program in Parkinson's disease at BrainXell Therapeutics. The principal objective of this position will be the evaluation and development of pluripotent stem cell derived dopaminergic cells for Parkinson's Disease cell therapy. Together with BrainXell’s novel and groundbreaking defined stem cell differentiation technologies, the Scientist/Senior Scientist will define, build, and test optimal strategies for stem cell generation and in vitro/vivo validation with the aim of improving the transplant and therapeutic properties of defined neural populations for clinical application in Parkinson's Disease. The successful candidate will also work closely with the senior scientific management of BrainXell to participate in the design and execution of research and development studies for other BrainXell Therapeutics CNS cell therapy products.

Responsibilities: Directly responsible for leading, designing and executing experimentation and product development studies necessary for defining and testing of stem cell derived neural cell populations for Parkinson's Disease and other CNS cell therapeutic indications.

Responsible to document all experimental designs, manage raw data and data analysis, develop results, descriptions and conclusions for all scientific reports including for regulatory submissions, patent filings, publications, presentations and other written or oral disclosures resulting from your work. Become the principal spokesperson of all scientific output for the stem cell program for PD.

In collaboration with BrainXell’s scientific staff, contribute to the development of in vitro and in vivo PSC methodologies and cell lines for additional CNS cell therapy indications (SCI, TBI, stroke, other).

Work together collegially and respectfully with all BrainXell employees. Serve as an external interfacing representative and responsible leader of the company. Set example for company culture and work ethics.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree; minimum 2-5 years R&D experience post degree or M.S. degree; minimum 5-10 years R&D experience post degree

Demonstrated scientific track record (publications, presentations) in neurobiology and in Parkinson’s disease translational research with specific application to CNS cellular therapies

Strong experience in animal models of Parkinson's Disease with excellent understanding of their limitations. Demonstrated experience with stereotaxic surgery, and behavioral approaches and apparatuses to measure neural and motor functions and dysfunction.

Experience with in vitro/vivo immunological assays and evaluations is a plus.

Biotech experience with stem cell culture, and/or application of neuro-developmental principles to defined neural cell differentiation experience is a plus.

Clear and effective writing and public speaking capabilities as well as excellent organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and creatively and to interact in a matrix team environment.
