Description
Postdoctoral Associate(s) (Full-Time)

The New York University Oral Cancer Center seeks Postdoctoral researchers with a background in cancer and/or neuroscience to study the reciprocal interaction between oral cancer and sensory nerves. Research projects will investigate the mechanisms by which mediators released from oral cancers activate sensory neurons to induce pain and the impact of cancer sensitized neurons on cancer promotion. Studies will use cell culture, animal models of oral cancer, genetically engineered mice, rodent behavior, imaging, molecular biology including nucleic acid and protein analysis, calcium fluorimetry, and analysis of oral cancer specimens. Applicants need not have experience in all areas, as expertise is available in our group. We encourage individuals to broaden their skills and experience during their postdoctoral training.

The position offers competitive salary and provides opportunities for career development and exposure to a rich scientific environment at NYU and the New York City area. Positions open immediately and for up to five years.

Please note, this posting is for two (2) vacancies.
