Postdoc or Project Scientist in UC Davis Alzheimer's Disease Center Laboratory

Two positions are available for highly motivated scientists to join the Jin Lab/Biomarker Core of the UC Davis Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC). The job will provide career development opportunities such as training in glycomics or glycoproteomics in a cutting edge laboratory (https://lebrilla.faculty.ucdavis.edu/research/clinical-glycomics/), and training in Alzheimer's research with a focus on biomarker discovery and glia pathophysiology in neurological disorders. Opportunities to work with the West Coast Metabolomics Center at UC Davis (https://metabolomics.ucdavis.edu/) are also available. 

Ph.D. or M.D. with benchside or dry lab biomedical research experience are encouraged to apply. Backgrounds in neuroscience, biochemistry/molecular biology, cell biology, bioinformatics/omic data analysis, or biomarker discovery are preferred, but not required since on-job training will be adapted to individuals. Qualified scientists who already have over 5 years postdoc experience will be recommended to the rank of Project Scientist and will be assigned some leadership role to implement the scientific goals of the lab.

​Environment: The Jin lab/Biomarker Core works on and supports research projects at clinical, translational, and basic science levels. The scholar will be exposed to multiple disciplines and have opportunities to interact with investigators in the UC Davis Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (http://alzheimer.ucdavis.edu/), MIND Institute (https://health.ucdavis.edu/mindinstitute/), West Coast Metabolomics Center (https://metabolomics.ucdavis.edu/), and Glycomics facilities (https://lebrilla.faculty.ucdavis.edu/research/clinical-glycomics/). Dr. Jin’s laboratory is currently funded by NIA, NINDS, NICHD, Alzheimer’s Association, and State of California Department of Public Health.
