The Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science at Binghamton University invites applications for a senior faculty position at the full professor level, with a possible start date of Fall 2022. This position was made possible by the SUNY Empire Innovation Program, and will be the first of the three cluster hires in “AI and ML for Health Sciences, Systems, and Outcomes” over the next two years.
The candidate is expected to present a clear vision for leading the University’s existing research and industrial collaborations, which encompass computer vision and imaging, cybersecurity, nursing, biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, data science, computer science, systems science, statistical learning, network science, mathematical programming, informatics and real-time system control, and health systems engineering. Although the area of specialization within the AI/ML/healthcare fields is open, we are particularly interested in a candidate who can conduct and lead research in the fundamental AI/ML core research and healthcare applications. Candidates must have a doctorate in an engineering discipline or a closely related field, and must have developed an outstanding research program, including a strong record of securing external funding and establishing leadership. Candidates need to possess a strong record of scholarship as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications/citations.
