Responsibilities
Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant, associate, or full professor of Neuroscience in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Macon, GA campus.
Successful applicants will participate in MUSM's interdisciplinary patient-based learning curriculum for medical students. Candidates with research interests in neurophysiology and molecular and cellular neurobiology are encouraged to apply. The candidate is expected to develop an independent, externally-funded research program and to interact collaboratively with basic scientists and clinical faculty located on the Savannah, Macon, Columbus, and Atlanta campuses. Candidates at the associate professor or professor level should have current extramural funding. In addition, the candidate must have a strong commitment to excellence in medical education and will be expected to facilitate the learning of medical human neuroscience in a multidisciplinary, case-based, medical curriculum.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a doctoral degree (PhD., MD, or equivalent) in neuroscience/neurobiology or related discipline from an accredited university/college and have at least three years of post-doctoral experience with a record of scholarly activity as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications.
