Qualified candidates are invited to apply for the position of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience of Rowan University’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and School of Osteopathic Medicine (formerly part of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, UMDNJ). The department has been actively expanding its base of activity in neuroscience and is seeking individuals whose research utilizes contemporary techniques to address fundamental questions related to a broad range of topics. While all research programs will be considered, applicants whose work is focused in the areas of cognitive, sensory, and motor processing; models of neurological/affective/neurodegenerative disease; neuroendocrinology; pain signaling/processes; motivated behaviors; or drug mechanisms of action are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants seeking the Assistant Professor position should have a Ph.D., MD/Ph.D. or equivalent in Neuroscience or a related field with a record of accomplishment in research and evidence of potential to develop and maintain a funded research program that complements areas of expertise within the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience. Those candidates seeking an Associate Professor/Professor position should have an established research program and a history of extramural funding. The successful candidate will join a productive and highly collaborative faculty. The position is expected to be research-intensive and will include some teaching responsibilities for graduate and medical education in neuroscience-related courses. Salary, start-up funds, and other considerations will be commensurate with experience and consistent with a commitment to recruit, support, and retain exceptional individuals. A comprehensive benefits package includes Rowan undergraduate tuition for eligible dependents.
