We are searching for an outstanding postdoctoral fellow interested in studying the neurobiology of Alzheimer’s disease in animal models and postmortem tissue along with potential novel therapeutic interventions at Ana Pereira’s Laboratory at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. Candidates should have a strong background in molecular and cell biology and have experience with the following techniques: cell culture, DNA/RNA isolation, cellular fractionation, western blot, PCR/qRT-PCR, in situ-hybridization, immunohistochemical labeling. Candidates will also be responsible for working with a research assistant to maintain a large colony of transgenenic mice to be used for molecular and behavioral experiments. An interest in neurodegeneration will be highly valued. A demonstrated track record of self-motivation, ability to work independently at the bench, enthusiasm, and scientific rigor is necessary.
