Two postdoctoral positions are available at the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience, Rutgers University –Newark, in an NIH-funded project led by principal investigators Pierre-Olivier Polack, DVM, PhD and Bart Krekelberg, PhD. 

The primary goal of the project is to investigate the neurobiological basis of transcranial current stimulation using two-photon imaging in awake, behaving mice. 

The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in neuroscience, or a related field, will be proficient in designing and performing two-photon imaging experiments with mice, and/or will have a strong affinity with complex data analysis (for instance, using Matlab).  

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design and further development of experimental protocols, performing experiments, analyzing data, writing up, and presenting scientific results.  There will also be an opportunity for designing and conducting original research of the candidate’s choosing. 

The Rutgers Newark Campus and the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience provide a diverse and stimulating scientific environment.  An infinite amount of cultural stimulation is only a 15-minute train ride away, in New York City. 

An appointment at NIH postdoctoral salary scales will initially be made for one year, with the possibility to renew for one or more additional years.
