The Wilkes Honors College of Florida Atlantic University (FAU) invites applications for a full-time (9-month) Instructor position in Neuroscience. The successful candidate will teach introductory and advanced undergraduate courses and labs in cellular neuroscience and behavioral neuroscience, advise students, and direct honors theses. Average teaching load is 7-8 courses per year.

The Wilkes Honors College (WHC), which opened in 1999, is a highly selective liberal arts and sciences college within a state university, located on FAU’s MacArthur Campus in the coastal town of Jupiter, Florida, just outside of West Palm Beach. The campus is an international hub for scientific research and hosts the world-renowned research institutes Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience and Scripps Research Institute Florida, along with the Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute.  In addition, FAU’s Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute is located nearby in Fort Pierce.

The WHC’s four-year curriculum is centered on the traditional disciplines in the liberal arts and sciences, with an emphasis on critical thinking, independent study, community-based internships, and cross-disciplinary programs. Currently, the WHC enrolls 690 honors students and has 42 full-time honors faculty members. As part of the University’s ambitious strategic plan, the WHC will increase the size of its student body and grow its faculty over the next five years. See www.honorscollege.edu
