High Point University invites applications for Director of Neuroscience at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank (tenure-track), with a start date of August 2022. 

Responsibilities will include serving as Director of Neuroscience; teaching Principles of Neuroscience, a core course within the neuroscience curriculum; an upper-level elective course in an area of specialty; and a course within the biology core curriculum, either in the area of physiology or in cell/molecular biology. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise using research models that can be successfully implemented at a primarily undergraduate institution. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of teaching excellence; will be well-versed in best teaching practices in the undergraduate classroom; will be expected to develop an active research program involving undergraduates; and will have access to startup and institutional research funds. A Ph.D. in neuroscience or a closely related field is required.

The position includes start-up funds and research space in our new state- of-the-art science complex, which houses the Wanek School of Natural Sciences. The Wanek School of Natural Sciences is the academic home to several undergraduate majors, including Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Neuroscience and Physics.
